i just went to my local town hall to register to vote, since the primary is oh, tomorrow and i haven’t registered in my new town since we moved in september. yeah, hi, i’m lazy. anyway, i wanted to make sure that there wouldn’t be any problem with me registering, so that’s why i went today. the clerk told me to come back tomorrow and register and vote on the same day. i explained why i wanted to register today and she said that i can’t today, but can tomorrow. she told me to bring a copy of a utility bill to prove my residency. i explained that since my husband and i are living with my mother, the utilities are in her name. i also explained how i have paperless billing for my cell phone and credit cards (eco-friendly ftw!), but could show a paystub and a letter from AAA confirming my address, and that my updated address is on file with the DMV, and i could also print out statements from my credit cards showing my address…. but no. she told me i have to have my mother write a letter stating that i live with her, and that will do for my proof of residency.
::sigh:: it makes me feel like a little kid, and it’s frustrating.
