today i graduated from nursing school and accomplished one of my lifelong dreams.

i’m proud and excited and happy.

today was my last clinical day ever. tomorrow i take my final final exam. pinning is a week from friday, on the 18th. i graduate on the 19th.

this is all so exciting, but also it doesn’t quite seem real yet.

complete sidenote and random, but i’ve fallen completely in love with ed sheeran’s music. absolutely gorgeous. i liken his style to a cross between jason mraz and damien rice; i definitely recommend a listen. so beautiful. also, he’s english, so of course i love that. such gorgeous lyrics, too. ::swoon::

hi, tumblr! less than a month until i graduate from nursing school!

i can’t stop listening to ellie goulding’s amazing album, bright lights. i really got into it last summer and i’ve had it on non-stop all week. it’s keeping me going.

monday morning, post-nursing exam, eating a whole wheat bagel with PB in the green bean. they’re playing the avett brothers and things seem perfect and lovely at this moment in time.

i have lecture in seven minutes’ time and i’m not super-excited. i hope i passed that exam.

watched coldplay (and dreamboat chris martin, swoooooon) perform at the grammys, kept it on to watch macca, then promptly switched it off when chris brown le douchebag won a grammy. now i’m listening to adele’s 21 and doing research for our upcoming group presentation on the ethical dilemma of caring for a pregnant patient receiving methadone treatment. interesting, no?

first exam of the last semester tomorrow morning. it’s worth 20% of our final grade. the covered topics are kidney disease, community health nursing, neuro (20 of the 48 questions), and delegation, i.e. “you are given report on five equally sick patients; which one do you see first??” ugh. i haven’t studied enough, though to be honest i could study 24/7 every day until the exam and still never feel ready. i just want to pass.

i am super-duper into adele lately. she is just so beyond good.

::yawn:: sleepy sleepy. time to go cuddle up with my sweet husband and get some Zzzzs.

hi, tumblr! i’m not dead, i’m just in the midst of a hectic first week back of my last semester of nursing school. i’ve passed the evil required pharmacology exam with a 95%, so that’s a load off. today we had a very long clinical orientation— i’ll be on an ICU step-down unit (intermediate care unit or IMCU), which i’m excited about. twenty-four pts, all quite sick, all on telemetry, so i’ll be able to practice reading strips. cardiac fascinates me, and i want to study and become more proficient in understanding it all.

anywho, i’ve just finished printing out about 100 pages of powerpoint lectures for tomorrow through next week, plus extra study guides and things. i’m quite tired. luckily, the prednisone has kept my joint pain at bay, but i’ve been tapering it and now the dosage is small enough that the pain is coming back. i’ll see my rheumatologist tomorrow. silly body. silly lupus.
